A. After a Requiem Mass, Arthur Lucan was buried in
Kingston-upon-Hull's Eastern Cemetery on Friday 21st May 1954. His funeral was attended by
Kitty, his son Donald, the cast of the show, the Tivoli Theatre
management and staff, numerous show-business friends and fans. Q. Can I visit his grave?
A. Yes. Location of grave : Go through the main
entrance of the cemetery and up to the building directly ahead of you and turn
right. The grave is three quarters of the way down this avenue on the
left hand side and the second grave in. [Thanks to Lynton Black]
The grave of Arthur Lucan is in the Eastern Cemetery, on Preston Road in
Hull. To locate it enter the main gates of the cemetery (you can drive
in) and drive straight ahead to the chapel. Turn right at the chapel
and drive about half-way along this road and the grave is on your left.
Counting full rows of gravestones on the left along this road, Arthur's
is the 27th row from the chapel and the grave is on the end right next
to the road. It is easy to find. If there are any gardeners working in
the cemetery I have found them to be very helpful - they know about this
particular grave and will direct you there. The cemetery is well-kept
and there are flowers growing round Arthur's headstone and a few clown
ornaments that fans or friends have placed there.[Thanks to Steve Oldfield]
