The 1871 Census shows Ellen Grasby (nee Duffey), her husband, John Grasby (II), and their four children living at 5 Hoyes Court, Davis Street, Hull. (Ref : RG10/4784 pg 73,[page13] West Sculcoates 13).

Ellen Grasby, Wife, 24, Durham, Jarrow.

Jos. Albert Grasby, Son, 8, Scholar, Lancashire(?), Woodend(?) (Lincolnshire). 

William R. Grasby, Son, 6, Yorkshire, Hull.

Julia Grasby, Dau., 4, Yorkshire, Hull, and

John Edgar Grasby, Son, 2, Yorkshire, Hull.

By the time of the 1881 Census Ellen and John Grassby, and, by then, eight children had moved to 3 Foxes Court, Davis Street, Hull. (Ref : RG/4761 pg 117,[page13] West Sculcoates 20, Entry 74).
