Although this site is principally intended for UK SELLERS, with most of the links being UK based - yes, I do live in the UK!!- I believe that the advice found within this site can also be of use to sellers in the USA and elsewhere.

THE  BATHROOM

The bathroom is probably the second most important room in the house, after the kitchen. The bathroom should not just be clean, it should sparkle.

All the surfaces and the floor should be spotlessly clean.

Personal toiletries and any cleaning materials should be tidied away out of sight. Also remove and store out of site any children's bath toys.

The more items sitting around in a bathroom, the more cluttered it appears, and the more difficult it will be to keep clean. Kill the clutter!

The sink and toilet should be thoroughly cleaned.

Ensure that the toilet seat is down before showing prospective purchasers around.

Ensure that there are no lingering odours.

Carpets  are not ideal in bathrooms as they attract dirt and harbour germs. Instead lay lino or laminate flooring. These are relatively cheap, more hygenic and also easy to clean

Ensure that the light fittings, light switches and door furniture are cleaned and polished.

Ensure tiles are clean and refresh tired grout with a special grout cleaner.

Machine wash your shower curtain, replace with a new one, if necessary.

Dress the bathroom with fresh, clean, towels, which match the decor. Flowers or healthy pot plants also add to the ambience.

Having deal with the bathroom, it is now time to move on to ...the master bedroom... ..Click here for more
